Ashley Taylor, who scored Newcastle’s only goal in the 2-2 draw at Leicester, has revealed he wants to join Manchester United.
“I’ve been told I’m going to Manchester United,” the 24-year-old told Sky Sports News.
“It’s a dream come true.”
The pair could become the second pair of United players to be linked with the Red Devils after the likes of Ashley Young and Marcus Rashford joined from Arsenal for around £60m.
The news is also the latest in a string of transfers which have seen United make the big spendings in recent months.
The club have also signed Wayne Rooney and Paul Pogba, who both made their debuts at Old Trafford, as well as Juan Mata and Marcos Rojo.
But while United are making big moves, their pursuit of the Premier League title is also proving a challenge.
With Louis van Gaal unable to sign any players in January, the title race has become even more competitive with Newcastle having a clear shot at victory in the league.
However, with a draw at the King Power Stadium, Newcastle have now secured their second top-flight title since the 2013-14 campaign.
